sasha smirnova

Sasha Smirnova is a sound and visual artist creating emotionally charged, narrative-driven performances that blur the lines between memory and nostalgia

After dedicating her childhood to becoming a pianist, a wrist injury put a stop to her musical path. Following several professional detours, she returned with her debut EP on the Helsinki-based label World Canvas. Her debut album Gone Stray was released in September 2025 via White Forest.

Smirnova’s performances center around the keyboard and processed vocals, blending meticulously designed analog and digital sounds with shifting rhythmic patterns. Her music flows in and out of structure — from drone-like riffs to trap-influenced hi-hats and deep bass lines — conveying a sense of longing and melancholy for places one cannot return to. These sonic elements often unfold alongside visual compositions, creating an immersive, multi-sensory experience.
